Part J (or Section J) of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) Volume 1 outlines the energy efficiency requirements of non-residential buildings. All new buildings and alterations to existing buildings in Australia must comply with the BCA, so a BCA Section J Report must accompany the design documents for a Development Application in order to get a Construction Certificate.
The objective is for all new buildings ‘to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by efficiently using energy’.
Thermal Certificates provides Section J Reports that address the ‘deemed to comply’ requirements for;
Part J1 – Building Fabric
Part J2 – External Glazing
Part J3 – Building Sealing
Part J5 – Air-Conditioning and Ventilation Systems
Part J6 – Artificial Lighting and Power
Part J7 – Heated Supply
Part J8 – Facilities for Energy Monitoring
Thermal Certificates provides BCA Deemed To Satisfy Section J Reports that are easy to read and in a fast time frame.
